The Teaching Tools

Welcome to the new generation of teacher stamps!

From the limited edition Holly Sanders x The Teaching Tools collection.

Artwork: "Star"

Meaning: This design represents the star surrounded by people symbols. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the oldest astronomers and the oldest continuing cultures in the world. They developed a number of ways to observe the stars, sun and moon to inform navigation, calendars and predict weather. The stories of the stars has been passed down the generations through song, dance and story telling for over tens of thousands of years.

All descriptions have been written by Holly Sanders.

This stamp collaboration is a celebration of our First Nations people and children who have been learning on this country for over a thousand generations. As the first teachers, First Nations people’s cultural traditions and knowledge has been passed down for thousands of years.

The story telling and symbols used in this contemporary art stamp set does not represent all First Nations cultural groups or people, if in doubt always check within your community.
